Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

Hello, I’m Angela Bishop, a registered social worker and therapist. My passion for helping others stems from my own experiences of personal growth and acceptance. Throughout my journey, I have learned new ways to show myself compassion and work through challenges as they arise. Whether it’s related to loss, transitions, parenting, or life’s daily demands, I have gained valuable insights along the way.

I understand life gets busy, and asking for help and finding time for yourself can become even more challenging. In the whirlwind of it all, we often get lost and forget to check in with ourselves to ensure we are doing okay. Surprisingly, you might discover that you are no longer able to manage all the daily stressors as you once could.

So where do you turn? I’m here to help and tell you that it’s okay. You can get through this, and we can do it together!

For over 15 years, I have worked with individuals and families, providing support as they navigate through difficult emotions and challenges. Throughout my practice, I consistently work in partnership with my clients, collaborating to develop an individualized healing approach that aligns with their unique needs and preferences.

My intention is to create a safe and validating space where you can freely explore the challenges and stressors hindering your wellness. Additionally, I aim to equip you with concrete tools and strategies that enhance your resilience, facilitate forward progress, and ultimately improve your well-being.

Additionally, I aim to equip you with concrete tools and strategies that enhance your resilience, facilitate forward progress, and ultimately improve your well-being.

The clients I work with frequently face a variety of difficulties, including low mood, distressing thoughts, anxiety, depression, significant life changes and transitions, stress, burnout, parenting challenges, prenatal and postpartum challenges, grief and loss, as well as feelings of isolation and loneliness.

As a mother of young children myself, I have a particular interest in supporting parents during the prenatal and postpartum period, as well as throughout the different stages of parenthood. I personally understand the challenges associated with extreme fatigue, societal pressures to meet perceived standards of parenting, navigating relationships as a first-time mom, coping with mood fluctuations, and occasionally feeling overwhelmed by the demands of daily life.

I deeply appreciate the unique challenges, and emotions, as well as the physical and mental changes that accompany the transition to parenthood. It’s truly an honour for me to support others throughout this transformative journey. By working collaboratively with my clients, I strive to identify their individual strengths and abilities, empowering them to overcome obstacles they may encounter in their lives.

Therapist’s Guide:

What to Expect from Our Sessions

Working with Angela

I firmly believe therapy is a continuous journey rather than a fixed destination. Throughout our time together, the therapeutic relationship we develop is a collaborative effort. This allows both of us to grow and deepen our understanding of your challenges.

Your unique personality and personal goals are prioritized and supported, enabling you to achieve the success you desire. My role as your therapist is to provide unwavering support as you navigate the changes you wish to make within yourself. It is essential to acknowledge that you are the expert on your own life and have the agency to determine what change means for you.

As we embark on this journey, I serve as your guide, equipping you with the necessary tools to make tangible progress toward a healthier, more well-rounded life.

My approach

With an empathetic approach, therapy sessions are uniquely tailored to meet each client’s individual needs and goals. As the therapist, my primary aim is to help clients navigate through challenges, guiding them toward lasting fulfillment and transformative change. During sessions, clients are encouraged to freely discuss their specific goals and share their personal stories, knowing they will be met with understanding and support.

I want therapy to be a safe space for you to relax and feel comfortable speaking your mind – so no topic is off-limits! The therapy space is a place for YOU to get whatever YOU need, with the therapist there to guide you in getting there. I will be your guide.
